This is the kind of fanfiction I like to see. Don't get me wrong - a little honest smut isn't to be sneered at - but this really extends and deepens the canon characterisations and universe-building of Trek. Thanks for reccing it.
Oh, I agree. Stuff like this thrills me. Broadening and deepening the experience of the movie, and drawing on 40 years of canon pleases me. Especially as the author is so careful in their word choice.
