The article reminds of when my mom was talking to the hospice nurse (who happened to be Hannahville Potawatomi) at the nursing before my mom passed away about my grandmother also being from Harris, essentially admitting that the family tree wasn't quite white. My uncle finds out about it and literally freaks out "Don't tell people that!" he says....even though it's pretty common knowledge that the Meshigaud's are related to us.
