If you click on "braexperience" under source you'll see more details like here (http://braexperience.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=BE&Category_Code=ArabellaFreya) which describes DDD's.
Well...my problem, at least, is that although my boobs are huge? My torso is back down under plus size range now...so it's harder to find bras. I know I can find plenty of d's and even dd's that are up to 42 at someplace like Target (because I'm rifling through them all the time), but above that, I'm lucky to find one 38 DDD...where-as there's plenty of DD, and even more D's. I think there's a disconnect between being 'smaller' and having huge boobs for makers of clothes for the 'average' person. If that makes sense.
There is a disconnect. I've been running around for years with bras that don't fit in the band size because manufacturers refuse to acknowledge that you can be a band size of 34 or 36 and still have huge cups.
For years I've been settling for a 38 band size, and all of my bras have been riding up in the back, slumping in the front, because the band doesn't fit right.
So I started looking online and trying things that way. I've been much more successful.
Yeah, that's what I wound up doing during the last round of replacing my bras for smaller bands. figleaves.com had some good stuff, which is where I wound up going. But even there, most of my choices were pretty plain. Still--at least the bras fit. :)
I'm a big girl, but I carry my weight in my ass, boobs and belly, NOT my ribcage, lol. I was so sick of having my bra band up around my neck in the back (not to mention my straps digging into my shoulders due to my boobs pulling down in the front) ...
There are more pretty bras on the Figleaves site now, but you have to put your house up for a second mortgage to get them :/
If only they'd stop punishing people's purses for needing a bit more material than others >:(
*nods* It's kind of frustrating on the opposite extreme, too -- if you've got a broader back but need very small cups, the pickings are pretty slim. Somehow a lot of the manufacturers seem to think that a 36 or 38 B should have cups that are almost twice as big as a 34 B...and heaven help you if you're looking for an A in anything much bigger than a 34, especially if you don't want something that looks like a training bra or has enough padding to double as a bulletproof vest. :(

This is my sister to a "t". We're exact opposites, and she has been so frustrated with finding small cup sizes with a lager bandwidth she has stopped wearing bras all together (unless a shirt is very sheer).

I tried on one of those when I got fitted at Nordstrom's. It's quite pretty, and strong yet delicate, but it just didn't fit my particular breasts very well. I'd be willing to try some of those other styles, though.
And let me just say that Nordstrom is the truth when it comes to bra fitting. The two bras I got that day are the best fitting bras I have ever owned, and I don't think I will ever shop for bras anywhere else.

;)
Seriously, those are cool. Definitely would be interested into looking into some.

Date: 2008-02-03 05:09 pm (UTC)I guess being just DD I don't have as hard a problem finding pretty bras. I just go to Fashion Bug and/or Lane Bryant.

Exactly. It's even worse for folks in plus sizes...not only do they (and me when I was up there) get nailed for underwear, but everything else, too.
