Mamela Nyamza's Dying Swan

There's an interesting discussion about Myamza's dance here and here.

:)

I'm digging watching it and the other versions of dying swan at wiliqueen (http://wiliqueen.livejournal.com/589355.html)'s lj.

Just watched the Mamela Nyamza video that's outside the cut -- that's the first time I've seen a swan on the music of Swan Lake.

:D Nyamza reminded me of a swan too. The versions by Paplova and the other ballerina linked here (http://wiliqueen.livejournal.com/589355.html) didn't remind me of swans.

Now I want to sit up all night and watch dance clips. I think I set off something dangerous! ;-D

The "Love Stories" bit is amazing -- I really want to see that full work now.

Thank you for seeking out all this wonderfulness!

And after reading around a bit, I'm wondering if maybe Nyamza's first-round piece is an excerpt from Hatch. The thought of that as a full-length work is making my head spin. I see she's performed it in New York; I can hold out hope for Chicago...
